Since we all learn in different ways and at different speeds CLA have long recognised the need for Distance Learning Programmes (DLP's). They are an ideal way of presenting a comprehensive range of materials for those for whom time is either limited, or has had to be compressed into less conventional segments of availability. Transformations in Belonging An opportunity for students to explore the beginnings of a fundamental shift in our socio-economic development during the last fifty years. The course is designed to examine the changing role of women following the end of the Second World War and the implications that this has had in moving from once closely controlled family groups into units of an independent belonging. It addresses the role of working women, the rise of consumerism in the fifties and the steady undermining of the establishment throughout the sixties leading to those transformations in belonging that are now firmly embedded within our contemporary social structures.
